Meet our Founder, CEO, and Director of the Dance Program. Mrs. Ashley, or more commonly known to her students as Ms. Jasmine, has 27 years of dance experience as she began learning at the age of three years old. She began teaching dance at the age of 14 at local middle schools in the Omaha area. That was where she discovered her love of growing young dancers into beautiful flowers. During the process of obtaining her bachelor's degree in business, Ms. Jasmine founded Jasmine's Dance Movement in 2018 in Sacramento, California. There, she also she was the Assistant Director and Choreographer for the Praise Dance Ministry at New Home Missionary Baptist Church. She has now transitioned her movement to Omaha. Ms. Jasmine has been a lover of the arts since she was a child as she enjoyed acting, singing, art and dancing on many stages. Fine Arts has always had a big impact on her life and has help shape her into the person she is today. This is why she feels so strongly about bringing the arts to our community, especially to our youth.
Mrs. Ashley is so excited to teach and guide these aspiring dancers and artists as they learn how to beautifully grow in their craft.
Meet our Director of Jasmine's Dance Movement's Music Program. Mr. Ashley is no stranger to the arts. He began playing both the piano and the drums at the age of 11 years old, and he began singing even earlier as soon as he could hold a note. He began learning music theory on the piano with local organization Arts for All and continued his learning at the Omaha School of Music. Mr. Ashley also sang for his high school chamber choir for his entire high school career, making the Nebraska All State Chorus his junior and senior years. He has a plethora of performing experience whether it be for his voice, piano or drum playing. He has played for the drums and the piano for his mother, Janet Ashley for events such as plays or concerts with the Mutual of Omaha choir. He has also been blessed with the opportunity to play at local events while spending nine years in Sacramento, California. Mr. Ashley has spent his whole life in church and has exercised these gifts in the church as soon as he could use them. He is currently the Director of the Music Ministry at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Ashley has been privately teaching lessons for 11 years, and he is now excited for the opportunity to teach in this capacity. His goal is to help others in our community to discover and expand on their God-given gifts.
